Guest Terms
Last updated 11 September 2026. The terms that apply when you book an experience through WildRoots — see also our Platform Terms of Use and Cancellation Policy.
1. Requests, not instant bookings
WildRoots currently runs on a request basis. Sending a booking request does not itself confirm a booking — the host reviews it, and a booking is only confirmed once it's accepted and paid for. Full detail of that process is on our For Guests page.
2. Who you're contracting with
When a booking is confirmed, your contract for the stay, activity or experience itself is with the host who provides it — not with WildRoots. WildRoots is a booking agent: it arranges the booking and handles booking-related communication, but is not the organiser of the experience. The host named on the listing sets the price and the cancellation terms, is paid by you directly, and is responsible for the experience, the location and your safety.
3. Package Travel Rights and Linked Travel Arrangements
Package Travel Rights and Linked Travel Arrangements do not apply to bookings made through WildRoots. WildRoots does not sell package travel arrangements and does not facilitate linked travel arrangements — each listing is a separate service booked directly with its host, and combining more than one WildRoots experience (for example a stay and a separate guided trek) means submitting a separate request for each, not a single packaged booking.
4. Payment
Once a host accepts your request, you'll receive a payment link. You pay the host directly for the experience. Your booking is confirmed once payment is completed, and you'll receive a confirmation and receipt naming the host you booked with.
5. Cancellations
You can cancel up to 14 days before the experience for a refund, unless the host has specified a different cancellation policy. The policy shown on the listing you booked is the one that applies, and where it differs from the WildRoots standard, the host's policy takes precedence.
If the host cancels a confirmed booking, you receive a full refund. If the host cancels because of weather, you receive either a full refund or a voucher for the next date of the same activity. Full detail is in our Cancellation Policy.
6. Your responsibilities
Outdoor activities carry inherent risk. You're responsible for assessing whether an experience is suitable for you, for following the host's rules and safety guidance, and for your own travel insurance and fitness for the activity.
